Week 5

The scholarship award ceremony was over just a little over an hour ago. I have thus officially accepted my 50% scholarship award from Sunway University.

Thank you, Jeffrey Cheah Foundation :DDD At least the burden of a university student is lessened here xD

The ceremony registration started a little after 10.00 a.m., and the ceremony itself started only around 10.40a.m. and the Minister of Education (Dato' Muhyiddin) was the guest of honor. However he only gave out the certificates to the really genius parts of the Sunway students - Chancellor awards sportsman awards etc. But hey, still met the minister anyways. XD

Week 5 is ending now, and just two days ago I joined the meeting for ECHO club. It's kind of sad how not many people know about this club or what it does, but I will play my part while I am here to stay and hopefully get to see ECHO be more recognized as part of the university clubs.

My PTPTN loan application was approved, but I will have to wait for an e-mail from the Sunway admins before  I can submit my documents. Crossing my fingers for an average score of 70% by the end of my third year here so that my loan will not need to be paid back! xD Time to work hard starts from this very instant :)

Yesterday, I went swimming at the Sun-U residence as a club activity. Sadly though, it started raining really heavily after barely 15 minutes I was in the pool. There goes my plans of getting some forms of exercise for the week, Instead, I went to spend some money for fine dining at the dining room in campus around 7-ish p.m.

Yes, there is a dining room here that not many knows about. I was there to help out a friend who needed customers for this practical of hers. Every week on a particular day, the students will need to serve the customers and their lecturers will watch over them and give them marks or something.

They have a fixed menu every week, and the full course includes an appetizer, a starter, the main course and the dessert, along with tea or coffee at the end of the full course. You can also get extra drinks - juice and some canned drinks, for an extra RM3. The whole course costs about RM22.50 if I remember correctly.

The cost may be pretty high for just one meal, but I for one think that it's worth it. The food is actually pretty filling, and I tried creme brulee for the first time last night. I think I liked it. :D

So yes, so far so good, this university life. Just a few days ago I was cheering because all my assignments at hand are finally done, but today I found myself with new assignments and research projects again. Well, I guess it's time to get back to completing my journal readings and other assignments.

Leaving this gif of my friends here as a bonus. It's fun how Google+ automatically makes a motion gif from some pictures I get from my Whatsapp groups. XDD

I will forever be taking pictures of my coursemates and maybe by our third year I will get to make a nice video montage with all these pictures!

See you all again next week! :D

Week 4

So hey, people. Greetings from Sunway University. It's the 4th week here now, and I think I'm settling in just fine.

because elevator selfie is important too

I guess it's pretty awesome to study here. It's becoming a routine to go out for lunch and dinner with my coursemates and some hostel friends. And recently, even just staying in campus until late into the night has become a routine as well.
Culture Shock!

Just last week my friends and I attended this university event 'Culture Shock', and there were performances and free red bull drink and lucky draw and last but not least a rave session.

Let's just say that I was jumping around and 'raving' in a dress and 1-inch heels. Which wasn't easy. But the loud EDM was very enjoyable, and everyone else was dancing as well and some even showed off their skills~!!

Dancing performances are forever awesome, regardless of genres. I like to watch other people do it even if I can't dance/

at the gym
I've managed to get myself a 5-days free trial at the celebrity fitness gym in sunway pyramid from a friend who has the voucher. Truth to be told, I never expected working out to feel this good. It's actually my first time going to a gym just two days ago, and I went with my classmates.

The people there are nice, and so are the equipment. Sadly the trial period is only for 5 days and afterwards I would have to pay the membership fees if I want to get in.

And even though I am working I can't quite have enough money for this membership (Approximately RM150-ish a month at the lowest rate)

Crazy selfie gang XDD
But hey, I heard that there's a gym in Monash that I can enter (apparently lah, I haven't gone there yet) so if it's legit I think I will be going there quite a lot to burn all the calories I absorbed these past few days.

Ah yes, if you guys haven't already seen it, I believe I have been overdose-ing on my social life. I didn't study as much as I normally do, but I still get my assignments done in time.

I'm still glad that I have friends here already, however :) But even with these new friends, it's still being able to meet my old friends that makes me happier. Just yesterday, my group of friends from secondary school met up as a gang once more - after like, what, 2 years? 3??? - to celebrate le bunny's birthday.

From left to right: Bunny, Whale/ Squirrel, Turtle (me) and Crabby
That excitement I felt when I met them all again, I can't quite put into words. It was so surreal, having to meet them all again and yet feeling as if we never even parted. I love these friends of mine, and God forbid anyone tries to hurt them. I trust them a lot, I love them a lot, I *whispers* grab their boobies a lot, and yeah, they've been my best friends ever since we got to know each other when we were about, say, 10 or 11 years old.

We went to the arcade and played games, had lunch, did a bit of shopping, had green tea ice cream as a group, had a small slice of cake and got some chocolate at the end of the day. There, I kinda summarized one whole day's event in a sentence. But the point is that I'm really REALLY glad to be able to see them all again.

It was fun, you people. I love all of youse. <3 Do take care, and I hope that we will be able to meet up like this again soon. Maybe by then we should go sing karaoke or something :D Go cray cray like le olde days. Happy belated birthday once more, Bunny-chan. :)

Meanwhile, take care, good luck and have lots of fun studying where you guys are! ^^

Week 3

Today is uh, Tuesday. Yeah, it's Tuesday. The third Tuesday of my studies so far.

Life has been good, albeit a little expensive, but it's manageable. I have been going out a bit more often lately, hanging out with my hostel mates for dinner until late into the night at times, and sometimes joining my friends at Sunway Pyramid for a movie or just window shopping.

I made a few friends - which is good, I am not to be fated with the foreveralone life from the beginning of the semester.

I got myself a job at a bookstore, and is due to start working this very weekend.

I still meet some of my friends from my pre-university year in 2013, because they stay nearby. By this time most of my old friends already lost contact or never contact at all anymore, so I just have to make do with the people I have left.

And keep making new ones in the process. :)
The studies are going on just fine, although I can do with less procrastination on Facebook and Whatsapp - My friends are all so active on it OAO"

I am targeting for a first class honours to waive the PTPTN loans and also have enough networking people by the end of my three years to know enough for a good business.

It will do to learn more than just textbook materials  for my degree, and I have my schedule packed full every week just so that I would have a moderate amount of stress to keep my working pace higher.

I can't work without any stress.

Speaking of which I need to go offline more. Internet is accessible in university campus and also in hostel, so there's not many places where I would be disconnected from the busy Whatsapp-ing life.

Let's hope that things will go well until the very end and even AFTER that. :) I have high hopes for you, Tatoru Yuki. Don't disappoint me. Take care, and keep emotions out of the way for now.
