Week 18

Woah, I was gone for quite a while, wasn't I?

I had my finals for the first semester from the 8th of December to the 18th of December, and on the 23rd I went to Bangkok with my family. It was an approx 5 days trip, and we went back in the morning on the 28th of December.

The roadside snacks here are delicious and cheap, even. The people weren't kidding about the delicious mango with sticky rice either. It tasted AWESOME. Food here i'd rate like 8/10.

Terminal 21. Blur picture, because it was taken on the escalator.
I must say, the MRT system there is pretty reliable and convenient, with each station situated in a city highlight area.

Among the places that we visited, I probably like Terminal 21 the most. It's a shopping mall with each floor having a different country's theme. It's also divided into sections such that one floor might be filled with women's wear while the other with men's; another with food and on yet another, trinkets and accessories.

I bought quite a number of accessories here, and there was a shop with punk-ish outfits and accessories. That's where I first spent my Thai bahts :D

Then there was Silom, a city area with quite a number of high buildings and night clubs. This is where I found bacon ranch fries for 99.9 THB.

Bacon. Fries.

The highlight of that place's gotta be Patpong, however. There were rows of shops selling counterfeit products. Pradas, Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Nike, you name it, they have it.

One thing about shopping in the market areas in Bangkok is that you don't have to be afraid to haggle. Especially in Patpong. You can ask them for the price of an item, and if you refuse to buy, the vendors will ask you how much you want it for. If you're good enough at haggling, you can even cut 1000 THB off a 1700THB item.

I am not much of a branded product fans, however, so this place doesn't appeal to me as much.

Pratunam areas, as viewed from a skytrain station
Next, Pratunam. Let's just say I now understand why Namewee mentioned Pratunam in one of his songs. '带你到Pratunam,你想买的我都会买’‘Bring you to Pratunam, what you want to buy I'll buy for you'

They sell decent-quality clothes and handbags here. I didn't quite finish shopping here because we were to meet people for dinner. But yes, shopping was done.

Of course shopping was done. We were shopping like 75% of the time we were there. Wake up around 7a.m. and set out to the nearest shopping area, grab breakfast, shop till night time around 10 or 11p.m. and go back to the hotel.

However we did visit the Grand Palace, for 500THB per person. Not quite my thing, but that place was HUUUUUUGE and 1 hour was barely enough for us to finish walking around the whole place.

Here it's mostly temple after temple after temple. They have tour guides for this area alone, and my family and I were just there taking pictures.

To be honest I kinda don't see much difference from one temple to the next other than some colours and the statues they have surrounding it, but hey, it's still something.

We DID enter one of the open temples and prayed there for a while, and the insides of the temple is breathtakingly beautiful. It was gold all around, and the idols were intricately carved. No pictures were allowed though, so we didn't take any.

This picture on the left here. From the closed gates my sister and I saw a big array of knives, swords and what-nots. Presumably used by the police or something, there's many types of these weapons arranged neatly in the building. Now this one I'm interested in, but the building was closed and so we could only see through the gates.

We went to Chinatown afterwards. Initially we wanted to go back on a tuk-tuk, kinda similar to a taxi but without meters and it has a smaller capacity. Knowing that we are tourists we were charged higher, and so we took a bus instead at 8THB per person.
this is just a small section of the Grand Palace~!
in le boooaat
Visit to Chinatown was sort of disappointing, there wasn't much. Or maybe that's just because we didn't quite explore the whole thing. The same goes to the floating market one, but that was because we went there pretty late, around 1p.m.. By then the floating market was closed, I believe.

The boat ride took about 1.5 hours, and we got to feed fishes along the way.

The water's not as stinky as the Melaka River, so that's something. It was okay-ish, I guess.

Then there's Chatuchak weekend market. As said in its name it's only open during the weekends. This place I didn't manage to finish browsing through. It's bigger than all the other markets I've been to.

Thing is, we went there in the morning. and even by 11p.m. we weren't done browsing yet. It's THAT huge. (According to some website it covers 27 acres) But thank god there's a MRT station at the end of it, where my sister and I sat waiting for le mum to be done shopping at the last two hours.

There's a shop there dedicated to dolls, both creepy and not-so-creepies. I didn't buy anything back though, having seen so many horror movies about dolls xD

I guess that's about it? It was mostly shopping afterall, and there's nothing much to tell about that.

On the other hand, it's approaching New Year in another day, and I don't actually feel anything. But let's hope that next year will be even better than 2014 :)

I apologize to anyone I might have offended this year and I thank everyone who have entered my life as well.

Week 14

25th November  -  1 December 2014

On the 25th, there wasn't anything much really. But the neuroanatomy presentations were finally done with save for the presentation itself which was to be done the next day.

Oh right. On the night of 24th, I cut my hair to somewhere above shoulder length in the hostel washroom ,just because I can. It was okay, considering it was my first time cutting my own hair like that. Feels much lighter and I don't have to spend time combing hair in the morning as much anymore. Which is actually kind of awesome.

On the 26th, the neuroanatomy presentation was done with, and I can say that I think we did quite well. No pictures for the first three days, I guess.

But on this day we also tried out this new food outlet opposite the campus that no one really tried before, and I personally think that the food there is good. Fans of western food here, esp. spaghetti and stuff. So :) They have really nice cheese-baked spaghetti with fish there.

No, I don't usually take pictures of my food. But this is really quite pleasant so I'll make an exception.

27th, I stayed over at my friend's place with another coursemate and we studied quite some. I haven't actually stayed the night at a friend's place before so this was something new for me.

Eitherway, with three girls staying together for the night, let's just say that we had out equal shares of gossips and heart-to-heart talk and food and drama and of course, we still did study and were quite productive, in fact.

Should do this again some day soon.

28th, we went to that same food shop again, and I tried out another type of spaghetti. Still good, still good. Aiming to go there either once a week or two weeks. The review questions were just about done, and the revision mood is finally kicking in. And a few of us went to watch this Penguins - Madagascar movie and it was cute to say the least.

I probably still prefer non-cartoon movies though.

Here comes the tired and sleep-deprived nights, this one week before the finals.

29th November, it was basically just work and I bought a new novel for RM8, titled 'Blood Harvest'. ALso tried out New Zeland Natural ice-cream which is just a few booths away from my workplace.

30th November, 2014

My last day of work until I resume again in January next year. Had a nice chat with a colleague there, maybe we will meet again next year?

We discussed our presentation for Stats that night, and all the preparations were finally done with. I finished reading David Levithan's novel 'Everyday'. It was GOOD.

Had a late night supper when it was getting close to midnight with the hostel mates afters, and then we went back home for rest and stuff.

Gone November, comes December, on the 1st of December

We presented our Stats presentation today, and I kind of messed it up a bit as I was feeling nervous even though I was fine just several minutes before doing the presentation. With that done, le coursemates and I went to have brunch (at 10.30 a.m., but most of us were already hungry) at Subway. This breakfast thing is pretty nice too :D

Most of us went to study afters, and I finished part of my chemistry notes for the exam around 1 a.m.

This is the week before finals.

I have zero ideas on how prepared we all are.

But nevertheless I wish all le coursemates the best and that we are all gonna ace the exams.

Stick together throughout the next 8 semesters, alright?

Week 13

Dad came over for a short while on Tuesday, 18th Nov. He brought some food and clothes, and then he left fairly quickly, in a rush. But it's something. I now have extra sachets of coffee and oatmeal and biscuits :D

19th November, Pizza party. We were celebrating Pit Shan's birthday (the girl on the left) and they had a cake for all the November babies as well (Picture on the right, there were five of us excluding the birthday girl).

We discovered that our 'class monitor' could do stuff with balloons, making a tiny balloon gift for all of us (sorta). A great highlight of this event is that there were 22 of us at the tables. It was the first time that so many people from our classes actually came out together .There were a few more people that didn't join us, but this is enough people already. :D

It was awesome :D

On 20th November, Wednesday, my two hostel friends and I went swimming in a nearby residence. Finally, swimming!! At night time too :D It turns out we can just enter the pool area and swim after registering, as long as it was within the visiting hours :D

21st, There was a class trip to KLCC for some exhibition for medical biotechnology or something like that. I uh, escaped to Kinokuniya shortly after arriving there (explains why I wasn't in the picture) and after having a meal we just went back to campus.

The fun was in the bus really. XD Nothing much to do in KLCC.

Weekends was filled with work and stuff, and yesterday I had a talk with a close friend of mine and it was a relief to finally tell that friend what was on my mind. It didn't change anything but it was simply a relief. :D

It was a good week.

By the end of this week, most of my assignments will be done with and I will be able to start studying for my finals on the 8th of December.

Good luck to all my classmates going through this same stage as well :D

Till next week, see ya :)

Week 12

Highlights of this past week: Homework and assignments. I have nothing much to say about this week *gulps* Homework tsunami is on the way, and if it counts as anything, I bought a few more notebooks during the weekends, one for motivational quotes and another one (very tiny really), for noting down the happy events that happened on the day. :) It's somewhat productive I guess, better than playing games on my phone and stuff.

What the girlfriends said was: "You gotta take some selfies when you're stressed out doing assignments."
And a selfie it was that we took.
I bought a new headphone from sonicgear for rm69. It's good enough quality, although it looks weird as fuck when worn.

I started drinking red dates drink again. I felt quite dizzy the past few days and drinking red dates drink always helped when I was back home. It was cheaper than I expected, and true enough, it did help. :) I'm having it about once every three days only though.

To make up for the lack of photos in this post
I haven't been taking pictures lately.
There was also a free health screening that involved BMI, blood pressure, blood glucose level and cholesterol levels. Turns out I'm about 157.9cm, and all those other blood level things are normal. I appear to be healthy :D

Yesterday (Sunday) I used this Aunt Anne's voucher thing. 3 specialty pretzels and one other new thing for rm11.00 that my friend paid for me in groupon (I don't have a credit card). I thought I could finish it. I have never been more wrong XDD

My friends and I have started to plan for an end-of-the-year trip after our finals this semester. It appears that we will be going to Melaka :)

Today in Introduction to Psychology class, we played charades instead of having an old-style quizzing. We can opt to draw on the whiteboard or act the term out. Our team lost =P None of us actually studied psychology yet so uhhh... eheh. But it's a fun way to revise alright.

Chem test 2 is in 2 days, as well as the submission deadline for the last practical report of introduction to psychology - done, thankfully. So here it goes, all the last minute cram-studying.

I actually already applied for one-month leave from work (a little guilty, but finals are more important than my money at this moment). Let's make use of this time properly~!!

Week 11

4th Nov, Maid Cafe event. I borrowed my friend's blouse and walked around campus in a... say 1.5inch wedges and short skirt-thing and a neko ears.

Sold most of le stuff - I must say 'thank you' to the member card promoting skills I got at my workplace for this - until there were only about... 2 or 3 items left? Yeah I suppose that was good enough.

5th November, presentation for Chemistry. I also got my kad siswa - discount card for university students.

I was kinda panicky for the presentation, to say the least. Prancing up and down the stairs and timing myself, making sure that I remember my points correctly without having to look at the slides.

My friend and I were the second to do our presentation, and we did one on Methadone. Yeah, chemistry stuff. I was glad when it was all over :DD

6th November, we collected data for our psychology experiment. We were doing a research on bystander effect, and we wanted to see if people will help more when they're in a group or when they're alone.

Basically in our group we drop something and pretend we didn't know it, and see if that person will help us pick it up and return it to us. As it turns out, people tend to help out less when they are in a group compared to when they're alone.

Psychology, bitches.

That night, I went to meet up with a good friend from secondary school. It's been so long since we last met, but she didn't change that much. Not much in appearance, at least. Personality? Prolly some changes were there. She's more outgoing, prettier - though a lot more skinnier now - but still good. :D Went back around midnight, a friend accompanied me to and back, but stayed in the cyber cafe while we girls catch up on stuff. :) Thanks bruh.

I think my friends and I went to watch Interstellar on Thursday also?

I can't remember.

The movie was good. I expected the movie to be real deep and hard to understand and stuff but as it turns out it was a really good movie and had me on he edge of my seat most of the time in the 3-hours movie.

yes, 3-hours. It was worth it, however. Very much worth it. Much recommendation to the friends out there considering watching it. Don't CONSIDER anymore. Just go watch it :D

There prolly wasn't anything much on Friday? I can't quite remember. BUT SATURDAY THO.

I managed to bring 3 other friends with me for a trip to Sunway Lagoon. There were supposed to be more people joining us, but about 2 or 3 had to back out at the last minute. So 4 people it was. And even though it was only 4 people, it was fun.

It was raining when I got up around 8a.m.. Sunway Lagoon opens around 10a.m.-ish, so there was still hope that the rain will stop afterwards. And it was just small drizzles by 10. We got our breakfast and then in we went to Sunway Lagoon :DD

I think we went on Vuvuzela first? The thingy that's like a huge ice-cream cone thing. A water ride. Yeah, we went into the waterpark first, got ourselves wet and stuff ;) We went on almost all the rides, actually.

Except for this other 360 degrees ride thing and other tiny rides that weren't as exciting, I believe we went on everything else. Even canoe-ing and pirate ship and swimming in the dirty waters.

Halfway during the trip - after lunch there, which was kinda expensive really - Rey's phone's waterproof abilities were tested.

AND IT WORKS. So from that point onwards we kept taking pictures.  We went on this motor-ride thingy (forgot its name) but not the flying fox. Queue too long and it was raining at that time (small drizzles but they stopped some rides nevertheless).

Imagine playing from 11-ish till 6p.m.

It was tiring, but worth it.

Afterwards Elicia brought us to Suki-ya in Paradigm mall.

RM39.80 nett. Free flow of meat.

but it's mostly the guys who ate. They ate shitloads. I wonder how big their stomachs are. One thing worth mentioning about eating here is the 'Chocolate Ice-Cream with Chocolate Sprinkles' that Punchbag was ridiculously proud of.

There's green tea ice cream. Which is like. Super awesome.

For the record, I had an ice-cream cone filled with chocolate sprinkles and some cornflakes before I left. :P

We went back after dinner at about 10-ish. It was a ONE DAY TRIP. 12 HOURS, about.

Much fun :D Best day spent ever~!!

Week 10

Week 10 was a busy week, to say the least.

On Monday, I attended the Sunway Ambassadors thing, accepting the invitation and I'm now officially a Sunway Ambassador :D Got a free t-shirt and there will be many programs and events to help out in from today onwards.

At least on that day ,we submitted the soft copy of quite an important assignment for Chemistry (worth about 7% only but still) and we had chemistry mid terms on Wednesday. It was somewhat better than I expected, although there were some questions that I wasn't sure about .It should be fine I guess. At least I didn't fail.

I hope.

I studied quite some for that paper, staying up late and whatnot. Let's hope it's worth it?

Shopping Trip 30th Oct 2014
Maybe lose only one mark or two out of 15?

*crosses fingers*

Week 10 passed by in a blur, to be honest. It was all studying and projects and homework and stuff, until it was all over and weekends arrive

whereby I went to work. That's how week 10 passed.

New Clothes!
Oh right. On Wednesday, my friends and I went on a shopping spree (kind of). It was just all girls so we went from shop to shop trying on clothes pretending to be interested in buying them.

Thursday, we went on a shopping trip and I got myself a nice red dress. It cost me like RM70, but I think it's very much worth it. The trip is somewhat shorter this time with two guys following.

One of the guys, who we shall call 'punchbag', was kind of worn out, having to wear really uncomfortable shoes and he kind of sat down on the marble floors of the shopping mall every opportunity he got.

I got myself a temporary tattoo (air-sprayed stuff) for Rm10, and it's supposed to last for a bout a week. It's still going on strong O.o Guess it's good enough for a temporary one? at least my friends won't nag at me for drawing on my hands this time :P

sad sod
Afterwards. Friday. It was Halloween, and I attended this Halloween event thing organized by the Centre of American Education (CAE) in Sunway University : Night at the Asylum. My friends and I made a last minute decision to go watch movie in KLCC, quite some distance away from our campus.

"Before I Go to Sleep" is quite a good movie (Better than Annabelle, at least) with hella lots of plot twists.

I arrived back at campus around 7.15pm-ish, and figured, 'whelp. Late already nyways (event started at 7pm, so it says on my ticket), so I went back to the hostel and managed to dab on some make-up thingies that I wasn't even sure how to use (I MANAGED ANYWAY) in about ... 8 minutes-ish? and yeah, I rushed to the event afterwards.

I went alone, my friends were not keen on participating and two of them have gone home anyway. I normally hang out with the hostel people you see.

I did get to know someone new there though, his name was Jason, I believe. He came from INTI with his friend and joined me as he saw that I was alone.

Had some nice talk, then after some dancing and stuff he disappeared.

Gave him my number though, so we can keep in touch. Guess all is well?

Weekends, work. As usual. I left my jacket in the bookstore and I have yet to go there to retrieve it. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe this coming weekend. Who cared anyways. I will be there soon.

I now have two trainees under me (sort of), and I'm kinda more senior compared to them even though they work full time. They're only 16, I reckon. But they seem to be doing quite a good job and are friendly people. That's nice.

New clothes, cupcakes (TURTLES!!!)  and a rose and another flower (IDK WHAT THAT FLOWER IS)
Then there's today. My 19th birthday.

My close friends didn't wish me until I posted some birthday celebration photos. Kind of disappointed, to be honest. But my friends here gave me pleasant surprises.

The lecturer remarked that it was my birthday and le birthday song routine was done, (thanks??? Not sure how to react to that cause what do I do with birthday songs tbh?). Then I got a tiny flower from a classmate, and then it was cupcakes and whatever you see in the picture. I got lots of hugs too. <3

Thanks guys :)

Yeah, that's pretty much it for the weekly updates, sorry for posting late. I know I was supposed to post like last Thursday but I kinda forgot anyways.

Will update more this Thursday, if I remember :DD

Week 9

Ahhh, quite an uneventful week, I can say.

I came back from the holidays on Friday in Week 8, and that very evening, I went to Night of Frights
Sunway Lagoon with some friends. Those friends were kind of crazy really, they went on so many rides that I was somehow too chicken to go on. The 360 degrees pirate ship - holy shit how did they summon the courage to go on THAT?!!! - and a very fast slide down a tube. I wanted to take shitloads of pictures on that day, but sad to say it was too dark to get any good pictures.

There were people in costumes roaming about, giving you shocks and surprises if they catch you unaware. There are also some 'haunted houses', so to speak, where you go in and risk getting scared but it wasn't scary really.

It was still fun though.

Red more visible this time?
Saturday was a rainy day, and being not needed at work in the end, I went to check out this melissa shoe shop because my friends and I had RM100 vouchers for this shop but yoooooo their shoes are like RM500 plus a pair. Ridiculous. So nope-nope-nooooped away back to campus where we dyed our hair again (the hostel gang anyways) at night.

In campus.

On the 3rd floor.

Outside the male washroom.

Cause it's mainly the guy in our group dyeing, we are just dyeing parts of our hair and not the whole thing) where we were caught like two times. It was late night, there wasn't supposed to be anyone on the third floor anymore, but there IS and two guys caught us girls in the washroom washing off the dye and stuff. XDD

Lunchhhhh. from left to right: Kawaii, '大姐' and Rey (who looks high as fuck)
Rey got his colours up real good, but for the rest of us it isn't that obvious. But it's k cause it's showing much more than it did when I dyed the last time with dark red. We chose super bright red this time anyway :DD Might try dark blue the next time I want to dye. Be a parrot. Prrrrt.

Oh and I got my PSP on that day I believe, and I've been hooked ever since.

Sunday and Monday went by quite uneventfully (I can't remember what happened anymore) ... Oh right. We had Stats exam on Monday and I got 55 out of 60 for that exam. Which was pretty awesome in my opinion :D

Wednesday I vaguely remember completing a lab thing and then reading to Sunway Pyramid to get a new ring (got one at Rm29) and then window shop with my fellow girls while waiting for Rey to be done with his gym stuff. Thing about going out with girls is that you can enter any shop you want and that was why we entered a super fancy lingerie shop and try out the low cut blouses there (too big for me even at S size and WHO BARES SO MUCH SKIN ANYWAY) ... Was that really yesterday? It felt like it's been so long. Maybe that was Tuesday.

Yeah i think that was Tuesday. On Wednesday we were... ... How hard can it be to remember things that happened yesterday?

Oh right. It was Deepavali, and my Indian friends were gone for the day. I was alone most of the day until night time, when I settled at the piano atrium to do some drawing and studying. Some people were playing the piano there, and they were good. Music during work is always appreciated ^^

Then there's today, when I got back my Neuroanatomy mid-term paper. I got 45 out of 60, and made it into the list of A-scores. There were only 4 people that got an A, so I think I did quite well even though I was kind of disappointed I didn't get an 80?

Yeah that was about it really But I had fun during lunch period, because my ship agreed to act out some coupley stuff for my birthday. <3 It'll be my 19th birthday soon, and I can only hope that I won't get pranked too heavily? XD But we planned to go to Sunway Lagoon (I can bring 4 people with 30% discount during the week of my birthday and I can go for free) on that week's saturday :D

Yay? :)

Week 8

Ahh, the mid-term holidays. Ever since I arrived home on this hella luxurious bus, I've been catching up on all the sleep and free food that I did not get in university.

It's back to the sleep late wake up late schedule like back when I have not started the uni life yet. And there's so much chocolate at home I'm surprised I didn't get diabetes yet (on second thoughts I might have it but just haven't realize it).

And I gotta say. It feels so awesome. This is the life, man. This is the life.

Managed to finish some studying and assignments, besides getting myself two new games to play - Command and Conquer - tiberium alliances and Dragon Age - origins that I got from, well origin.

Downloading Afterfall InSanity Extended Edition from Steam (free yo) as I type.

So much potato-ing at home.

That's about it about my week at home really. Nothing much to talk about. Just getting up past noon, face the laptop for like 10 hours, eat chocolates and whatever food available, do bits and pieces of assignments, and then read a few pages of my novel before I go to sleep.

I also discovered that it's a very difficult task to change a desktop wallpaper. There's so many choices but nothing seems perfect.  I settled for a Harley Quinn one. ... Daaaayum, she looks like Avril Lavigne.

Let's have those random rants back.

You know there's this website called futureme.org where you can send an e-mail to your future self? Like you just type whatever you want, and then set a date for it to be sent to your e-mail and you'll receive that e-mail on the said date.

I received one that I wrote somewhen in November last year, and it was about my relationship at that time, how I was so crazy in love and all that, and it could be our 11th month anniversary when I read that e-mail. I guess things really don't turn out the way you hope them to be :)

Ever since then I've been more clear-headed when it comes to relationship issues. I no longer want to jump straight into a relationship when I feel that crazy infatuation for someone, nor do I feel the need to make him mine or anything like that. Whereas the past me would have chased the guy I like and stalk him to the end of the world, I don't feel motivated to do anything like that any longer. I look out for all the warning signs and I'm not afraid to say 'no' or to disobey anymore.

A little more clear-headed. And it feels nice to be like this.

While I still care for the people I'm close with, I noticed that I think more for myself now. I don't really stay up late to help other people or to put my important assignments aside to comfort a friend anymore. Is that a good thing or a bad thing?

I do wonder. Maybe time will tell :)

I still feel those small tugs of sadness when I am reminded of how I could have been studying designing right now, completing sketches and drawings of concepts and ideas instead of studying chiral drugs and how to write research reports. It still hurts, but I have nice friends here who made me more determined to go through this with them. They push me forward, and I will do the same for them should anything happen.

Thanks, you awesome bunch of people. We're in our second month in uni now, and the finals are in December. We have one more month to prepare ourselves for our chain of straight A's! :) Let's do this together :D

Much love,

Tetsu Yuuki

Week 7

The past week passed by in a haze of blur. There were exams, sleepless nights and I don't actually remember much of it anymore.

I am, however, finally back home for the one-week holidays.

I stayed overnight at my friends' place yesterday night and got up early this morning to reach the bus station and board the 0830 bus. And ohhhh was that bus good. Air-conditioned, has a washroom on lower level, and there's a mini TV thing with 2013 movies and song playlists.

Aeroline provided a simple meal, consisting of a sandwich, a croissant-like thing, and a nice big apple. They also gave a bottle of water and a hot drink - I got myself some coffee - besides headphones and blankets to be returned by the end of the trip.

It's kind of like what I experienced in an airplane, except that this is a bus. I hope that I can just board the bus to Johor from Sunway Pyramid in the future, then I won't need to ask my friend to fetch me to the bus station anymore x)

On Thursday, all le Psychology students were probably rushing to complete their own practical reports which included method write-ups. My report was about 11 pages long, and this assignment's marks are worth about 15% out of our internal marks. So yes, after scoring only 5.7 our of 10 for my first psychology assignment (Yes, I was disappointed, because I really expected higher marks), I tried harder. Let's hope it goes better this time.

It was also on Thursday that I got my friend two PS4 games - Diablo 3 and Shadow or Mordor - for his secondhand PSP. That's RM400 for a console, which is quite a good deal.

I'm getting that PSP by Friday next week.

Kinda can't wait, to be honest. While my friend is home playing his two new games on PS4 I'm here downloading 'DragonAge Origins' from well, Origin.

So far, I have to say that I have more problems with Neuroanatomy compared to other subjects in this semester - Intro to Organic Chem, Intro to Stats and Intro to Psychology. And it was during this mid-term on Wednesday that I found out just how much I had to study and how much I didn't know.

Therefore I am recommending Armando Hasudungan's videos for the science and arts students out there. His videos are of him drawing the structures of an organ/ organelles and explaining their functions etc, and for someone who's more of a visual type of person like me, the videos are very helpful.

I barely slept at all the day before the exams, but at least I had a rough idea what answers I should write. Yet the results that came back so far was just results overview from the lecturer like

A - 4, B - 2, C - 4, D - 3 and F - 5. Each number representing the number of students that received the said grade. It got me a little worried. What if I failed???

My friends and I went for Tiramisu Tuesday at Starbucks - Buy 1 Free 1!!! and when asked for our names, I simply said "Batman" and yes, I got the Batman starbucks.

Right, this was the night before the neuroanatomy exams.

So we got our coffee and then we stayed up at night studying all the brain stuff. At least there was coffee, I guess.

And this tiramisu frappucino thing tasted nicer than expected, although it turned a little too sweet for me in the end. But hey, about RM9 for a large starbucks cup ain't half bad!! :D

Might do it again in the future.

That morning, we did our lab session and I bought a flower from the old aunt outside the campus. Brought the flower into the lab and placed it in a bottle for distilled water (Well I added tap water because distilled water can't really work to water plants now can it?)

Now, now. What happened on Monday? *thinks* Ah, there probably wasn't anything. On a side note, I should probably take more pictures of events in my daily life. I won't lose track of events that way, right? x)

eeeeitherway, this holidays is a lie. I still have so many assignments to do and there's two other mid-terms to prepare for~!! XDD

Oh oh OHHHH how can I forget. This week was when our Faculty students got to know the 'Trolling Saruman' song and play it over and over in lab sessions and lectures and sang at random hours.

That, and 'mah anahkondah donth'.

What a week.

Week 6

Heyyy guys. :D Turtle Yuki-san reporting for her weekly blogging!

Like all the previous weeks, there were some highlight events in the past few days.

Yesterday, my hostel friends and I joined this 'We are young, so what?" event which was mainly about the young entrepreneurs and how they got started, the troubles they faced building and making their business. There were also some performances by the university's music club and a comedy show by a local.

For RM10, there was a bag of food (snacks, more like) and a certificate and some vouchers and coupons.

It's not impossible to be career-wise successful even if you're still very young. :D

9 other coursemates and I went to watch Annabelle barely 4 hours ago, at 2.30p.m.. Sad to say I was very disappointed with the movie. There was almost no storyline and there were only jumpscares and well... it was just disappointing really.

Must keep in mind next time that not all horror movies are good even if the prequels are awesome. Much sads.

However, highlights of the week - I #yolo-ed with my hostel mates for two days continuously. The first day, Monday, probably - my friends and I (it's always just the four of us hostel people really) went to the shopping mall on an impulse and got ourselves a dark red hair dye and dyed our hair. It was for the only guy in our gang in the beginning, and one of us girls happened to know how to dye hair so she helped. Meanwhile the rest of us 3 girls decided to just dye a portion of our hair. The fringe part for us.

Yet the colour barely stood out after it dried and we were kinda disappointed. And the bottle of dye still had aplenty of the colours, so we went to dye our hair the second time. This all happened between about 9p.m. to midnight-ish. And yes we dyed our hair in campus. Because we can. I ended up applying the dye to not just the fringe in the end anyway. The colour only started to show recently. Slow chem reaction? XD

We are planning to dye a brighter shade of colour in the second semester. Let's hope it works out better by then :D

The second night, my friend and I stayed awake the whole night just studying and completing our assignments. NO sleep at all. We survived on... nothing much really.

We went to take our shower around 4 a.m. and got our breakfast and went to the lab for our class afters.

I brought my blanket with me and slept while waiting for the lecturer around 6 or 7-ish to 8-ish. And by night time I was simply too tired to sleep after midnight.

But I got assignments done, and even some studying. Which felt pretty good really. :D I'll probably do this every fortnight or so, provided someone else would stay awake with me in campus.

Overall it has been a good week, and I hope I get my salary soon because I need my money for... reasons.

Well, that's all for now. The assignments are piling up once more, and I need to start doing some journal readings. See you guys next week and I hope you had a nice week too :D

Week 5

The scholarship award ceremony was over just a little over an hour ago. I have thus officially accepted my 50% scholarship award from Sunway University.

Thank you, Jeffrey Cheah Foundation :DDD At least the burden of a university student is lessened here xD

The ceremony registration started a little after 10.00 a.m., and the ceremony itself started only around 10.40a.m. and the Minister of Education (Dato' Muhyiddin) was the guest of honor. However he only gave out the certificates to the really genius parts of the Sunway students - Chancellor awards sportsman awards etc. But hey, still met the minister anyways. XD

Week 5 is ending now, and just two days ago I joined the meeting for ECHO club. It's kind of sad how not many people know about this club or what it does, but I will play my part while I am here to stay and hopefully get to see ECHO be more recognized as part of the university clubs.

My PTPTN loan application was approved, but I will have to wait for an e-mail from the Sunway admins before  I can submit my documents. Crossing my fingers for an average score of 70% by the end of my third year here so that my loan will not need to be paid back! xD Time to work hard starts from this very instant :)

Yesterday, I went swimming at the Sun-U residence as a club activity. Sadly though, it started raining really heavily after barely 15 minutes I was in the pool. There goes my plans of getting some forms of exercise for the week, Instead, I went to spend some money for fine dining at the dining room in campus around 7-ish p.m.

Yes, there is a dining room here that not many knows about. I was there to help out a friend who needed customers for this practical of hers. Every week on a particular day, the students will need to serve the customers and their lecturers will watch over them and give them marks or something.

They have a fixed menu every week, and the full course includes an appetizer, a starter, the main course and the dessert, along with tea or coffee at the end of the full course. You can also get extra drinks - juice and some canned drinks, for an extra RM3. The whole course costs about RM22.50 if I remember correctly.

The cost may be pretty high for just one meal, but I for one think that it's worth it. The food is actually pretty filling, and I tried creme brulee for the first time last night. I think I liked it. :D

So yes, so far so good, this university life. Just a few days ago I was cheering because all my assignments at hand are finally done, but today I found myself with new assignments and research projects again. Well, I guess it's time to get back to completing my journal readings and other assignments.

Leaving this gif of my friends here as a bonus. It's fun how Google+ automatically makes a motion gif from some pictures I get from my Whatsapp groups. XDD

I will forever be taking pictures of my coursemates and maybe by our third year I will get to make a nice video montage with all these pictures!

See you all again next week! :D
